Cocktails on the Farm

An ongoing cocktail making workshop for women at Urban Roots Farm

Cocktails on the Farm is an ongoing workshop at Urban Roots Farm that gathers women to craft cocktails with seasonal flavors from the farm and explore mixology techniques using small-batch spirits. The recurrent workshop is a collaboration between Chase the Flavors and Urban Roots Farm, a certified naturally grown four season urban vegetable farm located in downtown Springfield. Each workshop features flavors from the farm, rotating ingredients from other local producers. and spirits from Copper Run Distillery, a small-batch craft distillery nestled in the Ozark Mountains. 

Attendees are guided through drink preparation for three different craft cocktails—choosing among a larger lineup—and take home recipe cards with full instructions for every cocktail. The workshop includes small bites from natural foods caterer Grace in the Kitchen, small-batch spirit tastings led by Copper Run Distillery, live music, tours of the farm, and the opportunity to make oneself at home at the farm, cozying up around a fire pit or strolling through the plots and high tunnels.
