1. Topeca Coffee Roasters

Topeca Coffee Roasters is dedicated to discovering the factors that produce exceptional brews. In 1850, when Santiago Diaz-Caceras brought his expertise in growing coffee to El Salvador, our story begins.

Then he settled on the slopes of the Santa Ana volcano to create a family of coffee farmers that would survive for another six generations.

The worldwide coffee trade started to collapse in 2001. To salvage the family coffee company, Margarita Lucia Diaz enlisted the aid of her son Emilio Lopez and her son-in-law John Gaberino.

They reasoned that if they wanted to make a living selling coffee, they needed to bypass the traditional “middlemen” in the industry and sell directly to consumers.

They are still committed to that original idea of a coffee supply chain that ensures long-term success for all parties involved. Despite the various obstacles they must overcome, and never relax their efforts.

3. DoubleShot Coffee Company

Tulsa, Oklahoma is home to DoubleShot Coffee Company, a small, artisanal roaster. Beginning with an insight into the superiority of freshly roasted coffee, the practice gained traction over many years of at-home roasting and trial and error.

The grand opening was held on March 5, 2004, just south of downtown Tulsa, near the intersection of 18th and Boston. They doubled in size in 2010 and moved into a cheery new white café.

They relocated into The Rookery, a brand-new, one-of-a-kind coffeeshop at 17th and Boulder, only a few blocks from their old spot, for DoubleShot’s birthday, March 5, 2019.

The origin of a good cup of coffee is the farm where it was grown.

There is a wealth of information about coffee to be gleaned from its growers and harvesters, from the fruit to the green coffee beans the owner roasts and prepares.

There are now three sites of She Brews in both Claremore and Tulsa, and all of them are run on a purely charitable basis. They meet a critical need by giving the women we assist the opportunity to acquire foundational employment skills and real-world experience.
