1. Publik Coffee Roasters

Publik is housed in a 12,000-square-foot structure that was formerly a lithographer’s shop.

This is a two-story area with enough seats, furnished with salvaged materials and Alpha Dominche Steampunk machinery.

The first Publik was located in downtown Salt Lake City. A third Publik Kitchen outlet is located in the Avenues neighborhood and serves coffee alongside a full menu.

They prioritize quality over quantity, which is why they focus on both the tiny and large details.

By carefully implementing broad roasting criteria based on bean density, bean size, and processing method, they are able to highlight the unique qualities of each of their coffees.

Also, they are eco-conscious which is why their roastery is powered entirely by solar energy and has an oxidizer that removes 96% of the roasting process’s particles.

2. Salt Lake Roasting Co.

Salt Lake Roasting Co., a Salt Lake institution since the 1980s, is a Utah specialty coffee pioneer.

It is the oldest coffee roaster in the city, and its proprietor, John Bolton, was mentored by the famed Alfred Peet (Peet’s Coffee).

They roast all of their coffee beans everyday in small amounts on the premises.

The beans used to roast the coffee are always Fair Trade and Rain Forest Alliance certified, and the pastries are prepared daily.

They only purchase arabica coffee. The alternative, robusta, is affordable and significantly more accessible.

However, robusta beans never acquire a sophisticated, rich flavor. From the finest arabica coffees, they evaluate hundreds of samples and provide you with the best.

4. Rimini Coffee

Rimini Coffee is a small family-owned enterprise in Salt Lake City that has been roasting coffee in small amounts since 1992.

Why is it known as Rimini Coffee? After spending time in Italy, the founder fell in love with the country’s culture, coffee, and traditions and desired to bring them back to the United States. As a result, Rimini Coffee was founded.

Then followed the romance. In 1999, Bob Evans relocated from Napa to Salt Lake City and acquired Rimini Coffee in order to be closer to his love, Martha Bradley.

And the rest, as they say, is history; the family has operated the firm ever since. Their guiding values have been the coffee craft, community, and sustainability.

At Rimini Coffee, they ensure that each roast reaches its maximum flavor potential by hand.

They choose the highest quality green coffee beans from across the world and roast them on a small-batch, smokeless roaster to assure optimum freshness and flavor, while also contributing to a more sustainable environment.

They carry Fair Trade, Organic, Rain Forest Alliance, and conventional coffees from all around the world and maintain the highest quality by stocking freshly harvested beans.
